The Columbia Urological Surgery Center(CUSC), directed by Lynn Foehrkolb RN, BSN, is the ambulatory surgery center associated with Central Maryland Urology Associates, PA. The CUSC has been rated among the best ambulatory surgery centers in the nation, according to the Joint Commission on Accreditation and Healthcare Organizations. The Joint Commission gave the CUSC its approval "with commendation" in 1997, an honor awarded to only 10% of the healthcare organizations accredited that year. Again, after three years after our first accreditation survey, the Joint Commission on Accreditation and Healthcare Organizations awarded our center with 97% of approval on accreditation for overall outstanding performance.

Norma Street, RN, has presented the CUSC at the National Conference of the Society for Urological Nursing and Associates as an outstanding model of office-based surgical care. Despite the CUSC's proven success, Central Maryland Urology Associates continues to improve the surgery center. On November 1, 1999, the CUSC moved into a brand-new surgical suite featuring the latest technology in urological surgery.
